Herne dream

I'm in class at Brown-Mackie and the class is over and I'm looking through bags of stuff that have been left behind, and in these bags there are some deer hides, which I'm overjoyed to find. In one of the bags, the hide turns out to be a live young deer. I get a rope around its neck and lead it out and down the stairs to a semi-wild area near the river (outside the college is similar to the area around BSU). I leave the deer there and try to run back, but it follows me.
My dogs, Athena and Pepper (in this dream, Pepper is still a puppy), are being kept in another room of the school and I decide to take them for a walk. The deer follows us. It is very large now and I think it had antlers. I meet some people and tell them about the deer, and the guy says "well, it must have been shot at some time."
I'm thinking about crossing the bridge over the river, but I'm worried that the deer will run out into traffic and get hit.
When I wake up, I realize that this is probably a dream about Herne the Hunter, for whom I chose my last name. He's been hunted and reborn and is following me, and I can't shake him.
