17/02: My granddaughter!
This is the second ultrasound of my first grandbaby, and now they know it's a girl!
10/02: Valentine's Day, 2012
Hawk and I celebrated Velentine's Day early. He got me a soundtrack from the movie 'Labyrinth,' the DVD of the movie 'Sweeney Todd' and a Dr. Who T-shirt. I got him a bathrobe, a billfold and a box of chocolates.
This is the first holiday we've really celebrated in years. Things are finally starting to get back to normal just a bit.

10/02: Labyrinth-Sanctuary Video
This is significant as it decribes the relationship of my Character Eee to my husband's character, Isoba.
04/02: hearts pattern.
Here's the pattern I created for the next part of my blanket. I took a pattern on the Tricksy Knitter site and modified it so that it would only have 3-stitch wide floats in back. I don't want there to be a lot of loose threads if it's for a baby.
03/02: FairIsle baby blanket
This is the blanket that I am knitting for my first grandchild.
22/12: Happy Solstice Everyone!
Today I realized on the long bus ride to school how much my morning commute makes me aware of the changes in the seasons. Not long ago, it was daylight when I left the house at 6:45. Then it began to get darker at that time in the morning. The change was most noticeable on Mondays, after three days of not going out that early. Even then, it was light by the time I got to the transfer point. Not long after, it was getting dark at the transfer point , but the sun was up just before I got off the bus at Brown-Mackie.
Today, close to the solstice, it was pitch dark at the transfer point, but the sun's almost up at Brown-Mackie.
Sure this may be seen as trite, and I'm sure people that drive have a similar experience, but being on the bus for over an hour has given me time to meditate on the gradual changes without having to focus on such mundane things as not getting in an accident while driving in the dark.
The wheel of the year is an important part of my religion and my world view. Having this chance to focus on the wheel of the year is an unexpected benefit of riding the bus to school three times a week.

This movie explains something that I've known instictively all my life, but my employer have not; that people are motivated by more than just money. Well worth ten minutes of your time to watch.
30/11: Problem with @font-face
I'm having problems with @font face. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this, please contact me and let me know.
In Chrome and Safari, the fonts show up exactly the way they are supposed to.
In Firefox, on my computer, my h1 font doesn't show up at all, even the backup font. There's just nothing there. the h3 font shows up as the backup font. When I switch fonts, the h1 still doesn't show up at all.
I read somewhere that using absolute paths for the fonts might help, and I tried this. Now the h1 shows the backup font, which is an improvement, but it's still not showing the @font-face font I want to use.
In Explorer, (this is weird) the backup h1 font shows for a second, then disappears! I have .eot fonts set up for Explorer, btw, but none are showing up.
